A hundred first-year engineering students are currently attending courses called « Thematic Sequence » dedicated to Earth observation via satellite images. This training is led by Laëtitia Thirion-Lefevre and Régis Guinvarc’h, teacher-researcher of the Sondra laboratory who have used RUS Copernicus, a service offered free of charge to anyone wishing to observe the earth, using free data, free virtual machines, free training, … This service is funded and managed by the European Commission and the European Space Agency.

Concretely, for students, this allows them to do TPS with machines much more powerful than their simple laptop and to learn how to use these tools to be then completely autonomous in their future projects related to Earth observation.
